It takes great people with high goals. It takes great costuming, sets, lighting and audio. It takes actors, musicians and fabulous volunteers. It takes royalties for the shows you want to see. When you are immersed in a wonderful show at The Landers OR learning the theatre arts at The Judy, it's easy to forget what it takes to make that happen. AND, all of that takes money.
Expenses for this season will approach $350,000 with royalties costing almost 30% of that total! Additionally, it costs over $20,000 per week just to keep the doors open! Ticket sales cover only 34% of our overall expenses AND SLT does not receive any ongoing tax or governmental support.
WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT!
Without the costumes, sound and lighting equipment, materials needed to build a set, the rehearsal equipment and the computers for teaching and exhibiting, there would be no experience. SLT designs and builds its own sets, develops and executes all lighting and sound design in-house and makes all of the costumes you see. Doing so gives you Great Theatre while providing exceptional educational and social experiences for our students, actors and volunteers at a lower cost than otherwise possible.
This is an area of continual need, whether making new costumes, acquiring new sound, lighting or computer technology or maintaining and replacing existing equipment.
